The old server is being removed. Not the 1.12 world. The 1.12 world will still be around.

The old server is on a separate IP and you haven't been able to build there for the last 4 years

Its only been like 2.5 years since we updated I thought

old.hometownmc.com? at least, i've been using that if it's the correct one. it's on 1.10 and all. i have no idea about the being unable to build part, because i've been able to

So basically we have to blow everything up before two weeks not october 5 when the reset is? Because how will be able to finish onechunk if it lasts until the 30th?

That post you've quoted is not related to this reset. The old hometown map is from a previous reset that happened a few years ago and the map was kept on a separate address that could still be accessed which has now been closed down. 

The current maps will be around until the 5th October when they will be reset and a new world will take its place.
