Ooh, I'd like to add: I'm not sure if this is backed up by any hard numbers or anything, but I seem to have a harder time finding diamonds in Extreme Hills than other biomes, instead finding scarce emeralds.

I just wanna add in a little tip for those that do now already know this. But when mining and finding 2 blocks of diamonds, you have atleast 2 more very nearby.
