Maybe signs that can change your gamemode. I don't know if thats possible, even with a plugin, and then making it so only experienced + can use the sign would be even harder. Maybe just make the old world so you're on creative as default, kinda like the creative world is. I don't care the slightest about finishing my old builds, but I do want to be able to look at the redstone in my farms because I forgot how I made them and I want to recreate them in the new world.

I hope creative is implemented somehow because I hate punching trees. We have enough climate change problems as it is without burning more coal to smelt iron ore to iron ingots and chopping more trees to get picks.

Still working out the details on there. We might be able to put creative mode signs that only Experienced and above can use, not sure.

Personally I will be glad to see the old world die, a fresh start is a fresh start.

I'd be happy to wait another week for the new world if it means ironing out the bugs.

I know some people might feel differently so no offence to them, but, I've let go of the old world now.

Maybe we could let the old world disappear, and put a world download in singleplayer...

The copy of the main world for single player use is 30 GigaBytes!!! I have fast internet (12Mbit guaranteed -- bursting to 16) but that is big enough that a download will take a *long* time -- like 2 days for me -- says the man who downloaded a 22GB contents of a web server 4 times using rsync. And if I can't do rsync or similar restartable downloading -- then we need to break it up into reasonable size chunks (like 30 x 1GB files) to reliably download it.

So let's say we run out of claim blocks, and for some reason we are unable to vote or receive them. If we were to build outside of our claim, would staff still be able to see the logs/roll back damage done to it, or are we literally only able to build safely inside our claim?
