What is the point of removing /rand when everyone can do it at the same speed their is no advantage or disadvantage and its about luck where you go.

I really hope you guys don't do away with /rand for the beginning. I kinda understand why but I just don't want everyone clustering around spawn and have to walk 10k blocks away to find somewhere to build where no one else is.
Additionally, people building towns would claim a large area close to spawn and idk I can just see things getting clustered and people getting mad at each other.

It's a work in progress still. My personal issue with /rand is that it's only about luck. There's no effort required on the person's part, and they could be dropped in front of a desert temple due to a command that took two seconds, but then there's another player who uses rand fifty times and still wind up in forests. I just want on-foot exploration for as long as fly is gone, it's an incredibly powerful tool, especially for a brand new, clean server. Dunno though, it's not been set in stone yet.

I think /rand should be on, unless staff wanna spend time rolling back a fuckton of dirt one-night-only shacks near spawn... also, I /rand a lot bc I get bored easily and I have never found a single temple,village or other lootworthy structure infront of me. I have to fly around from the /rand first
. Finally, rare biomes is not an issue at this stage since everybody (except those who will be in the creative overworld) will be grubbing in the dirt looking for iron. Bleh, survival
