just wanted to say something about slime blocks being pretty buggy when moving players... maybe its just an SMP thing idk

In the past I think I had that issue because I did have VIP and couldn't fly.This made the server think I was flying when I bounced on the slime block so it would rubber band me back to the ground because like I said I couldn't of had fly enabled . Maybe its the same issue here. Hope I helped you out, I dont use slime blocks much anymore :/
