I voted today and I didnt get any slot tokens or even money for doing so. Sometimes I don't get tokens if I vote while I'm not online, but I'd usually get the money for it, but this time I didn't. Do I have to be on the game in order to get the rewards?

Yes, in order to get the slot tokens you need to be online while voting and you also need to have inventory space.
