Hi,

So I am aware of a beacon where when I am next to it I have a haste buff, but I was told it had speed also, the speed buff doesn't show though. 

It must be there because the speed of mining is mega fast.

I copied the beacon with my own x4 layer deep iron blocks with my own beacon on my land, but it either gives me haste or speed.

What is going on someone please explain?

Haste makes you mine faster. Speed makes you walk faster. So the effect that affects your speed of mining in this case is haste, not speed.

If you want to have both haste and speed buffs, then you need a second beacon.
