Rules for claiming, grief, releasing claims
#2
I like this idea for a sort of anarchy styled server, but I agree that this is unlikely to ever happen on hometown.

People wanting to make big builds would need a load of claim blocks, meaning they would need to save up for ages to start their build. This problem could perhaps be fixed by allowing players to "apply" for more claim blocks for a specific large build.

We also award claim blocks for voting. This system would make it seem that you have to "pay" for protection of your builds by voting for the server.

Many new players would build without knowledge of the plugin, and could come back after a day to discover that they'd built near to another player who has removed their build.

Currently existing builds that are not already protected and belong to inactive players would be open to greif without consequence, meaning that old players may come back to destroyed homes and builds. This is not an incentive to carry on playing and many would give up and leave for good.

And finally, modifying other's builds without their permission or knowledge goes against the core values of hometown itself. If you want to build together, the claim plugin has /trust. If you don't want to build together, you can report another player's greif to staff with the trust in the staff team that they will roll it back to how it was before. Having grief be unpunished removes that security and trust in the staff team, and along with it the sense of community.
