It sadly has to be done all by hand, a lot of people spend hours on those paintings and it surprises even me who loves to paint with artmap. The one thing I do suggest is using multiple canvases/easels, for paintings to add more depth, as well as looking at others and the techniques they use to create paintings and shadings. But Shading is definitely the key to a good artmap in my opinion
