ik this is late but as you have 4 times as much you should pay the significant portion based on how much you have. Therefore, if you tipped up to $50, you would pay $40 meaning you have $160 left, the other person will pay $10 and they will have $40 left. You will both have the same ratio of money as you started, and as you had more money you should pay more and if you split it you would be paying 1/8 of you money while the other whould be paying 1/2 which isn't fair. And one of you paying isnt really fair especially for the guy who had $50 but not so much for you but the other person still enjoyed the meal and should pay a bit.
