i've had this twice now. i click on minecraft and instead of the launcher opening like normal, it does some shenanigans downloading the native launcher and then when it completes it gives an error saying it couldn't move a file (can't remember the exact error). I have found a fix for this: running the launcher as admin, however it troubles me. Has anyone else seen this?

I've not had any issues with this myself. I take it this is only since the new launcher update?

uninstall & reinstall your Minecraft. I had the same problem after the new launcher update and that fixed it
