Alright so I have this man made forest I made and due to too much grief there I protected it but then figured out there is a public mine underneath. So I was wondering if there is a way to make the protection only above land but remove the protection underground?

Unfortunately that's not possible with the current plugin. Try fencing off the forest or building a giant pixel Lorax?

it's a little extreme but you could also lock all your forest blocks
