Ban appeal
#1
Server you were banned on (SMP/Discord): HometownMC

Minecraft username: OggorNoxx
Reason for your ban (exactly what it says when you try to log in!): Using x-ray.

Who banned you: Steasaur

Why should you be unbanned (Why should we give you a second chance?): I should be unbanned not because I didn’t do it, but because this server genuinely means a lot to me. It’s really the only thing I do in my free time (which I don’t have a lot of), and I have many projects that took days and even months to complete that can’t be properly replicated on other servers or in personal worlds. The community and the way the server is run is also something I’ve never found to be matched by other servers I’ve experienced. Regarding the use of X-ray, the decision came from needing money to finish a project I had already spent months working on, not from a lack of respect for the server or its rules.

Why do you want to come back: The reason I want to come back really comes down to what this server has that others don’t, and I understand if I’m not allowed to return, as the reason for the ban was understandable and I take complete responsibility. This server’s combination of community and the constant excitement of finally getting a couple of hours to play after a long week is something I haven’t found elsewhere, and it would be hard to suddenly have nothing to look forward to after that time. Again, I understand if the ban isn’t appealed, and I accept the decision. I mainly wanted to be honest about how much this server means to me and to show that I recognize my mistake and would approach things differently if given another chance.

I appreciate you being completely up front about the x-raying.

I'd ask you to answer the following questions with a minimum of three sentances each if you want to be unbanned:

1. Why do you think HomeTown has rules against x-raying?

2. What damage could allowing x-ray do to the economy of HomeTown?

3. Describe how you will legitimately make money if you are successful in your appeal?

Ah thank you Stea! Anyways, straight to the point!

1. Why do you think HomeTown has rules against x-raying?

Rules against x-raying are fairly simple to understand; they exist to create balance within the community. If everyone had access to X-ray, what value would netherite or diamonds even have? Additionally, these rules help keep the game fair for vanilla players, since using X-ray makes it extremely easy to gain an unfair competitive advantage over others. Overall, HomeTown aims to maintain a peaceful and friendly environment, and rules like banning X-ray are in place to support that goal.

2. What damage could allowing x-ray do to the economy of HomeTown?

If X-ray were allowed on HomeTown, the economy would quickly become unstable, with valuable resources becoming nearly worthless due to how easily obtainable they would be. This would cause inflation, throwing the market into chaos, as other valuables would skyrocket in price in response to the sudden abundance of resources. In short, HomeTown’s currently stable economy would be disrupted by drastic price changes and inflation.

3. Describe how you will legitimately make money if you are successful in your appeal.

Making money on HomeTown is not difficult, mainly due to the variety of legitimate opportunities available, but it ultimately depends on patience and how quickly you need results. In my case, I wanted money quickly so I could return to a building project, which is not an excuse for my actions. There are many legitimate ways to earn money, and I have successfully used several of them before. In the end, making money on HomeTown comes down to patience and effort, and choosing to do so legitimately is entirely the player’s responsibility.

P.S. This was my first time doing something like this, and everything else I acquired in the game was completely legitimate up until that point. I am open to any questions regarding this and promise to be honest. It was only those diamonds (roughly 192) that I obtained dishonestly.

Have a good one!
