I don't see any problem with the economy being broken except $100 starting money. Just change it to $0 if that's possible. Prices will go down becauss of competition even in option 2. The only thing the server shop is doing is making it so the prices of things don't go even below that.

I will litterly address both sides and make a decition on my own  ( I am condoling that fact of which I am happy either way) but here goes nothing I will address the cons first .

ECONOMY: Well we have to understand that people want a reset of the economy but that won't be fair for those that have  worked hard to earn that cash like my self my 1500$ has been frok the last 2 years of saving despite bad internet and those that do want the economy reset waste their cash anyway I mean come on they learn nothing from that what so ever. And as well who is to say the smarter economically playing people won't just make the previous system happen again and hyper inflate everything and purge on new players once more. You are resetting an economy with a tone of people who have server economic experience and know how to make a tone of money as fast as possible. BUT I would be comfortable with an economy reset if their was a STOCK MARKET SYSTEM INTORDUCED TO HELP NEW PLAYERS AND OLD PLAYERS MAKE A TONE OF CASH.

BUILDS: Now I honestly don't wanna see my hard work thrown away and IK for a fact their are other builders who feel the same that have amazing builds some better then mine people like 4doc and kiro I mean those to have great builds and have done so much for them selves it would be ashamed to see their beauty to just be taken away. But because I move BC HQs every other week its not a big deal for me .

SUGGESTIONS IF RESET DOES OCCURE: some of the suggestions I would like to bring up incase of a new server reset is very simple and this may make a few people happy . 1. Just make a second server and have everyone slowly but surly move over to that one making and growing a stable economy that allows everyone to make new cash as the transition occurs and slowly cut down the amount of people that can come on the current server like by 5 people each week for a few months then just close it all together and force everyone onto the new server. 2. Create a stock market and investing system . This would allow new players to invest in company's like BC or major shop business and yes I may get the argument that the richer people will just use that as an advantage but at the same time if we  were to do something like hedge funds it would be a safer options and we could just have market caps people can buy like a stock being worth 50$ you can only buy 250$ worth of that stock per month. IT would be a good way of new and old players to make money in this new economy or even resource inflation and deflation . Make this new server economy much like a real world trading market and a real world economy there are not very many servers that do that and honestly this could be a first HT is not far from having that I would even be willing to build the stock exchange building for free. and 3. Allow the spawn to have business buildings people can buy. I am just suggesting that if we do reset the economy we make it a strong one that encourages new business to exist. if need be I would be happy and willing to work with the admins of this server to make a new company business and town friendly server where all have opportunity.

ECONOMY : The server economy would be at a new reset and allow players to have a second chance and try not to waste  cash and actually try to build something new for the people of HT .

BUILDS: IT would allow new resources to be found nf for the prices to be a bit cheaper with them now being more viable over time and a chance for people like me and other builders to make new memories. We can't hold onto the past for ever we need to make this server more open to the community and not try to kill ourselves off like what the entire MC community has recently been doing.

LAND: I will agree with grim there still is a lot of land But building wise it is not completely good land I mean its kind of sucky and extremely hard to find at times and yes expanding the server borders would make senses for the land issue it only kicks the can down the road a little more.

Reform: This reset could allow for the server to be new and allow the players to have more control like this over the needs of the server this would allow the people to have a say in what happens. Possibly elections for people to become future admin and mods like have 2 people that are in the running have them make their cases of what they would do as admin and then vote them in over one week and have one of those two players become admin and the rules would be they would have to be at the highest ranking that voting would be able to take you and may e mods and admins could go for re-election . IK I am making this more like a political thing but to be honest it would allow the people and not just the big man on top to make the desition.

Inconclusion:  I am for the most part ok with the reset it does not affect me that much as long as we could in a way make it a slow change with a second server and a slow move to that , as well create a stock exchange that encourages new business to occur: and make the spawn more welcoming to business like having shops that you can rent or buy here on the server forums. and give the people more voting power over who our admins and mods with an election system. The election stuff is only because most mods and staff is nice but there are a few....that have problems with the people. in all I chosen option 2 or even an option 3 which is a slow transition to the second server

Yes I do want to keep my builds, and people should too. I value my builds and others' of the same proportion. I know people do not like building guardian and iron farms. I know people do not like to see their efforts wasted. Is it a promise of the staff team that a reset WILL solve the most fundamental issues of the server? Is a reset going to make hoppers put items into chest carts, stop redstone circuits breaking randomely upon loading, stop horses from freezing under pstones or disappearing when warping, or make LWC compatible with pstone? 

Also talking about resetting everything, and being fair in not carrying over items and bal. Is it fair that /fly gives VIP an advantage in claiming most of the ocean monuments, get to a roofed forest, raid lots of nether fortresses and claiming all the blaze spawners and hold them for sale later, find strong hold after strong hold because they can fly over ocean?

+1 everything jelly just said.  smaller map and fly = all the juicy stuff will be gone before you can blink.    if there is going to be a new map perhaps think about denying fly for the first month or so.

yeah i voted option 1.  so did lots of others.  if we are going to just be labeled selfish, it seems like there is a preconceived notion at play here.  why even make it an option?  to just out us as selfish assholes?  of course i want to preserve my build.  duh.  no one will even entertain the idea of letting me bring it with me to the new map.  THAT is selfish beyond words.  no one will entertain the idea of applying for build transfers, or requirements or anything.  just a blanket no.  no take ups on my offer to help do the work.  

i am absolutely insulted that admins on this forum choose to declare i am selfish because i voted option 1.  even if it is indirect or just thrown out there without mentioning a players name, i think it is totally disrespectful and out of line to label any of us as selfish.

i am looking at a massive portion playerbase (no, not all) who have nothing on the line calling for a total wipe.  THAT..  well i dont even need to say it.

- Since you agreed with my statement that you want to keep your builds, are you also agreeing with my statement that you're contributing to the detrimental effect to the server?  It was in the same sentence after all.

- Let me answer your question with another question: will leaving the server the same–for an uncertain amount of time–fix any of the issues you listed?  I have not seen you offer any feasible solutions other than wallowing in our current mess.  In the past 9 pages of comments, you have not made a single alternative suggestion to Option 2 other than complain about your builds being deleted.  The issues you listed will be addressed as best as possible with a full-reset within the staff-team's capabilities; I can promise that much.

- Also, when hasn't /fly been an advantage?  Would you like us to revoke people's ranks or perms to meet your standard of fairness in this argument?  That would cause a massive server-wide outcry and you know it.  Even if we temporarily suspended /fly; when it's re-instituted, people will once again have an advantage.  You're arguing from an absurd standpoint in this regard.  People do not donate to be fair with other players, they donate to access perms to gain an advantage.  Trying to argue otherwise is illogical.  You should also know this best; you're a vip-rank.

It's perfectly fair since everyone loses their stuff too, not just you. Does it suck? Yes. But what sucks even more is both the ridiculous effort it takes to get anywhere in this eco, and also the lack thereof. With the server shop, not only will it set price floors and price ceilings for the WHOLE eco by selling and buying only common, cheap goods, it'll also set a dire frame of reference between work and money that has yet to exist on the server. Guess what? All your money is worthless currently. Why keep a lot of useless money when instead we can have a fresh reset and have lots of useful money to spend? Cash flow and the circulation of currency is extremely important.

To address both of your concerns, we have already thought of this. We have a comprehensive plan that isn't currently on here since frost wanted to keep it short. But it does include eliminating fly for the first couple weeks to a month to give everyone a fair shot. We aren't unfair. As for Jelly's complaints, yes this will fix a lot of issues or atleast make them less pronounced. Another thing that ISN'T mentioned is a reset means an upgrade to a new server with a faster CPU and nearly a terrabyte of SSD space, compared to our current 256gb one that caused all our plugins to crash. We'll also be replacing many of our plugins in favor of other ones, such as pstones with grief protection, etc.

If you've bought it and spent it then I don't particularly see a reason to give it back. If you buy currency elsewhere and something changes to the game they dont just give it all back.

That being said, if players complain we've already considered letting people show a proof of purchase to receive the currency again on the new map.

How is saying that we should let you and just you and a select few other people carry their builds over not selfish? I'm not trying to label you as selfish, but my want for a reset is anything but selfish. If you get to keep your build, you don't lose it. If you want to play with it in survival, then you can download your build using mods. At the end of the day, the server will die if we don't reset, and we can't make everyone happy by carrying over everyone's builds. We also can't selectively carry builds, since that would be massively unfair. This is the best compromise for people who don't want to lose their builds and also want to fix the glaring issues with the server. I don't see a better, fairer alternative, do you?
