The prices of diamonds have been a staple of the economy and in my time it has not dropped noticeably and had never dropped below 1.4 on average. Everything else have more or less kept to their proportions with diamond, just the numbers have gone down, but the economy still works as is. I believe the server shop will not define price of anything other than the items it buys or closely related to. Diamonds will most likely still be around 1.5 and so on. Supply and competition will continue to drop prices as people gain more resources after the reset.
Crowding as I addressed can be solved with option 1 alone with an extra world. And I have serious doubt that a map reset is going to make plugins play nicer together, same old plugins same old problem unrelated to map.
I do not hold that these issues are overblown, they are definitely there. But do they warrant a reset? Will the reset do most of the issues any good? No. There will be lots more patches, trial and errors and new plugins that can be done without a new map.
I remember when diamonds were 5 dollars....

Read my comments carefully, I know diamond prices might have dropped, but so had everything else. Beacons, gold, iron, labor. 20 years ago a burger might cost you 2 bucks, and now they are 3 times more expensive. Have stuff become more expensive? Are burgers unaffordable 20 years on? No, because everything have gotten more expensive together, wages too. As in the server, everything have gotten cheaper together, but the starting $100 and the reward for voting stays the same, it should be easier to afford goods than ever before. I do not see your point. I had been on the server for year, and the price of diamond had been stable for at least that long. You put more (valuable) money into people's pockets, it facilitates trading. As for a server shop, it is only there to rename the number, lets say 1 old HT money is worth 3 new HT money, and diamonds will be about $5 again, what does that change at the end?

As do I, a partial reset isn't going to do anything but split the community apart. A total reset gets everyone back to square one and everyone has an equal chance of starting over

That's a silly idea to be doing now in my opinion, who's to say people will not scroll past the first post after they voted, or even if read the thread again other than looking at the poll. Probably should have been done at the start if it was to be added not in the middle of the vote... Perhaps send mail to all in game to make them double aware of this change.

That's been there since yesterday. I'm calling further attention to it because I've noticed people neglecting to do so after re-voting.
