Necroposting.
#1
(Necroposting isn't a big issue, so i doubt this suggestion will go far)

If a thread has had no replies for a certain time window (lets say 30 days), could it be possible to auto-lock the thread? This would make necroposting impossible.

The only problem i can see with this solution is specific threads such as the market plot application thread, where it needs to stay open. Perhaps disable auto-locking on staff-posted threads?

As an alternate solution, you could lock a thread if it is not viewed by anyone for a certain time. This way, if a thread is inactive but still has interest, it is still open in case someone wishes to post.

I am aware that it is very simple for staff to simply lock threads which get necroposted on, but this is just a small suggestion (perhaps a backup?)

This could be an issue for quite a few threads, such as some forums games

Kind of a good idea however some threads like the fine arts and some forums games can be affected so maybe there could be a way to choose if it auto locks or something? However I know lock is more for threads that aren't appropriate here, or need to stop as the person is being rude etc.

It means you post on a thread. necroposting means that you post on a dead thread. Usually, dead threads have died because they did not get enough support, or for other various reasons..."
