So kinda a weird thread but i pushed a shulker through into the end portal, which should lead to spawn in the overworld, but the shulker wasn't there when i went through. I've accepted that its probably lost, but it also might have gone through to the original world spawnpoint (which i cant find cause compasses point to your first sethome).

So!! If anyone finds a shulker in the overworld somewhere (or somehow manages to get one through the portal), I'll pay them a $500 reward and I'll take the shulker to the zoo. I've checked around spawn so i know its not there, but that's about all that i've looked.

Compass points to the original spawn point of the server, not the spawn build or a bed as far as I know.

I think Essentials makes your compass point towards your first default home, actually.
