I Have recently built a mushroom farm

It has 72 shrooms growing, and after it is built, the rates are about 100 mushroom per 8 minutes. 
I have 9 more successful harvest of around 100 shrooms each over 1.5 hours or so.
Then all the sudden, the rates dropped 50 times, to 4 shrooms per 16 minutes.
I attempted to find the problem but there were none.
Was there a problem with block update?

Block update could be the problem. Now I have recently noticed that if you afk with the [esc] menu, that block updates work a bit different, instead of checking every tick, the tick rate slows down. Now this is only on client side, so just open your inv instead of escaping

I afk with the chat window, then I can read and lurk and not do a damn thing that could possibly be constructive. XD

As for actually useful help with the shrooms, I haven't a clue, but I've noticed certain farms slow to nearly a crawl at seemingly random times...
