Ban Appeal
#11
Quote:Spart Wrote:

Well if you find it lacking, please tell me a few points which it is lacking in. It's like when you're designing a bridge. You design a bridge which is fully functioning, but the boss says "Make it better". So like, in what why do I need to make it better? Plus I have already said I don't even know who banned me. I left the game one time and didn't come back because I was busy. Then, 3 days later someone says that I'm banned. So basically, much like in the discord incident (which I don't know why I was banned for), I didn't know when I was banned and who banned me. Also as for effort, you can see that I'm bothering to reply and actually work forward into things so, really, you can't say that I'm lacking in effort for this appeal.

- To start:

Just some constructive criticism, but this appeal is lacking after all the stuff you've pulled and the things you've said. Especially taking into account this is not your 1st ban, nor is this the first time you've butt heads with staff-members with your disrespectful demeanor–you also know how the staff-team feels about repeat offenders.

It's easy to say "I'm sorry", it's a whole other game to actually make us believe it's sincere–put in more effort.

Also, whilst I'm at it, your apology shouldn't sound like an afterthought. You should also try recalling the people you disrespected and in what ways you did specifically. Otherwise, your attempt at an apology sounds like an insincere blanket statement and makes it sound like you're not even sure yourself whom you've disrespected.
I already told you what points are lacking.  In general, longer written appeals are accepted more; you should know this after being here for so long.

- Your analogy does not work.  If I had to tell you what needed to be improved on, then your "bridge" is not fully functional.  You're assuming your appeal is functional when it's not.

- I saw your argument on the server over the Discord incident via PasteBin logs, you know why you were banned; you just denied you did it and started a massive argument over it.  As for who banned you, it's unlisted for a reason–you can put "I don't know" or "Unlisted" in that spot.

- You continuing to respond does not reflect an apologetic effort in which you understand how and why you were banned.  Apart from your actual appeal, you've just been arguing with me over your appeal.  It is an effort, but it's a misdirected effort that will not get you unbanned and is further reinforcing you'd rather argue than put forth the necessary effort into making a good appeal.

Alright, so I typed in google "Definition of argument", and it came up with "an exchange of diverging or opposite views, typically a heated or angry one." and "a reason or set of reasons given in support of an idea, action or theory."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not have any opposing views to you other than the fact that I do apologize, neither am I angry.

As for the reason why I got banned, I think it went along the lines for calling the Discord mods "Hitler Mods", as a joke. However, now that I see it, I do apologize for such offence, I'm sorry. So to apologize, I must refer to all the mods in the Discord who must be, DK_ and Star (I think?). So, I apologize for calling you a "Hitler Mod", Star and DK_.

Also, for the reason my argument with DK_ happened on the server was due to the fact that I got kicked for "Spam" when I typed in the lyrics of a song. Now, I do admit it that the lyrics look "spammy" from a distance when you're just scrolling through. But it wasn't in this case. I did not repeat it multiple times, nor did it have the same message within the message. So I got pretty mad because I thought that what I did was fine only to get kicked. However if it looks like spam from a distance then I must apologize, I just got pissed off at the heat of the moment. Therefore I apologize to DK_ for whatever I said to him which may have been offensive to him in the argument, but more so wasting his time having it in the first place.

Also as I have mentioned in previous posts, I shall avoid social interactions with most people, except my closest of friends, on HT. Probably would get me out of a lot of unneeded trouble. So to conclude, I apologize for all my actions towards the staff members and I hope I don't "bump heads" with you all again.

This is just a few examples of what we've had to deal with. Every single time we've tried to correct you on something, you go on the defensive and refuse to listen to us. You've disregarded chat etiquette several times, posted pornographic links, argued with us about it all and refused to see that you were in the wrong. Grimm was nice enough to tell you what we wanted to see in your appeal, and you argued once again instead of following his advice. You've even started arguing about the defintion of argument. We've banned people for less than what you've racked up over the past year and a half. We don't want to have to constantly deal with your "I don't give a shit" attitude.

Star and I agreed on banning you from Discord because of the Hitler comment. The last straw that led to your ban was the last argument. You know what you did was spammy. As a former Trusted, I know you have kicked people for less. The whole conversation could've been "Sorry, won't do it again" and that would've been the end of it. But lo and behold, you refuse to believe you could've been in the wrong. All of that because you were forcefully removed from the server for 4 seconds.

Tell me, why should we unban you?

Well, DK_ as I said, I wasn't even arguing, look at the definition. I wasn't inflaming on anyone, instead I wanted Grimm to help me, which is far from arguing. But this is all not the point.

As for me refusing to think that I was in the wrong, well haven't I shown that I do apologize and that I am in the wrong?

Also thanks for revealing my Skype details on a public forum I really appreciate that. On top of that, this was before when I was pissed off at everyone and before when I apologized over being a cock to most of staff. Same goes for the "wrongly banned" part and all that. What I have learnt is that I am not allowed to say whatever I want as I can see now. So I can now retract that statement.

Why should I be unbanned? I answered that in about 3 threads, but whatever I'll say again. I "should" be unbanned, not that I'm forcing you to, because I do not wish to communicate with the HT community or staff or even say anything on HT or whatever, except to my closest of friends. I have apologized about the past, and now I shall apologize again. I wish only to play the game on a server that I have spent 2 years on. That is all, and that is why I "should" be unbanned. I just want to play the game, and avoid communication's with people. That also means whispering on the server about staff or anyone in general.

Also, as a side note, there are 12 mods on Discord, most of which are also server staff (I want fair people staffing, though I also haven't been able to update & promote people recently).

I have apologized, and sorry if I didn't mention all 12 for 2 main reasons:

1) The Discord server only shows, i think, you at the top. Plus I only knew that DK_ was mod because he told me that he's the one that banned me.

2) There are staff members of whom I actually never had a quarrel with and I like. Also a few that I have had a quarrel with in the past but we moved on. But names don't matter, "Hitler mods" was a generalization which I apologize for.

Alright Spart, you know this is starting to get really tiring. I think I need to list some truths that you may or may not be aware of:

1. You are extremely confrontational and argumentative.
2. You cannot handle being wrong.
3. You like to play word games and act like a lawyer, rather than use common sense.
4. The staff team we have now is the best that I have seen on any Minecraft server, period. These people are people who genuinely want to help out, not douchebags who like a pretty rank that lets them tell people what to do like staff we've had in the past.
5. The ONLY reason why you hate so much of the staff is because they aren't afraid to call you out when you're wrong, which really conflicts with truth #2 and and results in truth #1 taking form. Take you kicking incorrectly, for example. You kept kicking for wrong reasons, but this staff team doesn't consist of Nazis, so we've given you many passes. Told you not to do it over and over, but you didn't listen. So you got demoted. It's not an act of hate. We don't specifically target you. You just keep doing it, and you don't want to take responsibility for what you've done wrong because you'd rather blame the staff than let your pride be hurt.
6. There's more than one definition of argument. See truth #3
7. You can use truth #3 as much as you want, but rule #2 aka "don't be annoying" can be invoked whenever we want at our discretion.

These are truths. Non-negotiable.

Now that that's out of the way, let's use common sense. You clearly were being extremely insulting towards DK. You were so mad that he kicked you for spamming for what was indeed spam, which, by the way, your argument that it was a song so it's okay is not true. You like play word games so much, you can clearly see that the rules don't say "Do not spam.* *Song lyrics are okay." Even then, it isn't your place to argue about what you were kicked over with a staff member. We're here to interpret the rules, not you. If you disagree, submit a complaint with me. Don't raise a huge stink in global chat and start an argument (the first definition, I read the whole chatlog, trust me).

Your attitude is being carried over to here too. Do you think we're blind and dumb? Anyone who knows English and can read can see how condescending you're acting. Stop patronizing people who are telling you what you need to do to get unbanned. You can try to squeeze out if it, argue any point you want, act clueless as you want, but we know exactly what you think of us and that you know exactly what you did wrong. Quit acting like you're some clueless kid that needs help wiping after he's gone to the potty. You can't avoid what we want to see, and what we want to see is a good appeal. Just because you don't want to hurt your pride in a public apology doesn't mean we're going to bend and let you present an argument as to why you don't need to meet the standards we set.

Finally, as someone said up above, we've banned people on waaaaay less than the trouble and disrespect you keep giving us. You're so paranoid that we hate you and are out to get you but that's not the case, we all really don't care. We're just here to enforce the rules, and you seem to keep going out of your way to break them. Grow up, put out a good appeal. And if you're so hard-hearted that you can't make a genuine and good appeal, then that's your loss then. We're giving you the chance to redeem yourself, but you only seem to want to throw it away.

It's ironic you'd post the definition of argument.  Under the definition you're personally choosing to use; yes, you're not arguing, but that's the layman's term for an argument.  You're ignoring the second definition, which is used in academia and the one I'm referring to.

Basically, the 2nd definition states that: an argument is a conclusion (idea, action, theory) reached and supported by evidence (statements/propositions) given in a logical order.

You're saying you're not arguing (a conclusionary action), and you posted a definition (evidence) to support your conclusion.  In other words, you're arguing whether you want to realize it or not; you have been this whole time.

I took a whole university-level class on learning/assessing logical arguments and argument forms, which focuses on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument
I can tell when people are arguing.  Also, you cannot argue about not arguing.  That is a contradiction, which is a conclusion that is always false.

If you're done arguing, then it would be wise to actually work on your actual appeal.
