I think we have come to a point where there are too many huts (any build smaller than 25x25) made by people who have been offline for 7+months. I understand that every legal build (5x5 w/ chest) and claim is there for life but we are running into an issue where no one can build anything bigger than a small house due to being crowded.


what I propose is we get a small team  (2-3 people) with permissions to roll areas back. if a certain player has been perma-banned or has been AFK for more than 5 months ( with a build smaller than 25x25) their areas should be rolled back and any valuable items (enchanted tools, diamonds, etc) should be stored in a chest with their name on it. then the player would be compensated based on the size of their house.

Examples would be

5x5 shack (square house) = 250 IGC and their valuables stored
10x10 build ( small home) = 1000 IGC and their valuables stored

essentially the idea is the number of blocks the build takes up multiplied by 10. so bigger builds would get more in compensation because they would have to be rebuilt if that player ever gets back on.

this solution would take some time, but if everyone in the community who are actively seeking out a place to build come across something then it would make the process go by faster. horses and other pack animals can be egged and stored in the chests.

I understand that it is time consuming. but its not an immediate fix. even with the border expansion, areas are going to get crowded by people who build a small hut and never get on. we can even get a world edit tool and copy/paste their builds ( if they meet a certain criteria) and paste them to a creative plot.

I was helping him build a sky base and was looking for some glass to fill in the rest of the base. we were using shulker boxes to transport sand and glass.So I was going through the shulker boxes looking for glass.One box had a bunch of armour and an elytra no glass so I exit and move on to the next box and must have miss clicked because apparently Zach's elytra was in my inventory.

Why do you want to come back: The server has a good community and me and a group of friends have been making a giant skybase.

why I want to be unbanned:this is the first server in a while where I feel at home, since I was banned ive tryed other servers but I dont feel right

Why should you be unbanned: I almost never take people's own property or grief builds. I do not know why I took the beacons, and I understand that it directly violates the rules. I would love to return the four beacons I stole and to never break the implemented rules again.

Why do you want to come back: Hometown is the last good SMP server out there. I love to play Minecraft and I sincerely apologize for stealing the beacons. I like the small community and the hospitality of others, which isn't something you can really find in Minecraft anymore.

Hey so when it comes to computer specs and which to get I’m woefully unaware. All I know if it it runs  Minecraft then that’s good. So, I’m looking into getting a macbook and selling my
current Lenovo. Would you more technologically informed say this is a good idea or is Microsoft better than Macintosh?

If not an MacBook what would you recommend? I need something around that size but with a decent amount of storage etc.

Hello, denizens of HomeTown.

It has come to the attention to members of the staff-team that some of our well-established players have been giving undue scorn to newly arrived [Guest]s.  This is even more evident within members of the higher-ranked and [VIP] pools.  This behavior will not be tolerated.  Everyone is protected or punished under rule #1: be respectful to others at all times.  HomeTown is a welcoming community to all.  If someone fails to follow our rules, they will be dealt with after the crime--not sooner, without reason, or at face-value.  Everyone here started out as a [Guest], and a lot that remained stayed because they felt welcomed.  It's disgraceful to be in a higher position and look down on others like this.  It's one thing to be cautious of new-arrivals but it's another to be jerk because of it.  Even if a new arrival griefs your property, so what?  It will be fixed and the offender/s punished.  The staff-team will see to that.  If anything, being rude to another player simply because they're new is a disservice to all.  That person could be a new friend of yours, an amazing builder, or a future supporter of our server; and they're being put down for being new.  We've had issues at all ranks that require a ban, even among all levels of [VIP] and members of the past staff-teams.  Just because you're a higher rank does not mean you're immune to rule-breaking or being banned.

Remember the golden rule, folks: if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it.  We'll be cracking down on this behavior.  Thanks for reading.

   Jailed for breaking blocks withing 100 meters of structure first, assumed it was the one I broke to get out being stuck at /warp dirtshop. Resumed digging dirt for a build I was planning. Next thing I know I'm banned for ignoring mods.

   I did make a mistake by breaking blocks at /warp dirtshop (I am sorry) but I was not aware I was near a structure after I was jailed. I /rtp'd to avoid making the surroundings of my build look unnatural after digging for dirt. I have come quite a long way in this server and I vote a lot so I should be unbanned. I was unaware I was breaking rules.
