It's official. The laptop has died. Its death was so pathetic and pitiful to watch that I'm simply in shock.

There was a lot of hope riding on this laptop. It was my only way to be able to play on the server over easter. Yes, I'll be able to use minechat at home but that's what I've been doing this whole year so far. The thing that hurts the most is that the laptop did it to itself.

During one of those unavoidable windows updates where microsoft decided to replace the "shut down" button with an "update and shut down" button to force you to do it, the laptop crashed. In doing so, it corrupted some vital file on the disc. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that the disc may have suffered physical damage from movement during this update (yes, a laptop that is "portable" but takes 3 hit points damage when you move it).

After windows recovery failed to recover the drive, I tried a factory reset. After windows recovery failed to reset the laptop, I stepped it up a notch.

I removed the drive from the laptop and put it inside my computer.

I put some windows 10 installation media on a USB stick and tried to boot using the drive. It went to windows repair. I pulled out the big guns and formatted the disc. The destruction was so complete that some could feel a disturbance in the force, as if 450 gigabytes cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

I repeated the boot. Windows 10 installation media told me "sorry, I can't do anything with this shit" and fucked off.

It was then that I discovered that my USB stick has somehow been corrupted as well, resulting in it being unreadable to every computer i've plugged it into and I can't format it to make it usable again.

I think it's safe to say that the issue with this disk is that it is old, well-used, and crap. The next step for me will likely be buying a new hard disk and trying again. Which means...

*inhale*

I won't be able to play on the server (other than minechat) until June. I may not even be able to then. I may not be back until September.

To say the least, I'm pretty pissed off. With my university for blocking minecraft... MINECRAFT... on their internet "because..... reasons" (CS:GO isn't blocked though is it huh?) and with my laptop hard drive for collapsing so pathetically. There weren't any flames. Not even smoke. Just "oopsie woopsie! Something has gone wrong!" and then having a monumental breakdown that would rival most deathcore bands where it went through all of the stages of grief simultaneously, hit the peak of an existential crisis, and overdosed on ket before collapsing in on itself faster than my self esteem.

At this point I'd like to thank the academy microsoft support for supporting me throughout none of this ordeal and I wish you all a very happy easter with lots of chocolate and minimal guilt for eating it <3 <3 love you all

Hi, my ign is notahacker123 and i was banned for caps/theft. I feel the ban was innapropriate because yes i did use caps, but the farm was public and it said replant but i was sent to jail before i had time to replant.

Why should you be unbanned: From what I remember, the server was really fun back when I used to play, however this was at-least 4-5 years ago when I was around the age of 11 - 12, I don't know if you guys still have logs for this but I got banned multiple times during that time for being really stupid and doing stuff like stealing somebodies enchantment table (which is what I think got me the perma ban), Now i'm not saying this as an excuse or anything, as i'm sure that individual worked very hard for the cobblestone or enchantment table that I took, however I was quite young and stupid at the time. I believe that the previous ban appeals are still up on the site somewhere, but I created a new account because I cannot remember what the old one was. The reason I would like to be unbanned is because I have been banned for atleast 3-4 years, during which time I have aged and "matured" alot (I am sixteen years old now), that and I'm definitely not going to break into some guys house and steal his enchantment table again. I don't know if vilneas is still staff anymore but either way I am sorry to both vilneas and whoever I stole from (I think it was like a bunch of cobblestone I stole or something) and I would like a second chance.

Why do you want to come back: Because from what I do remember from this server, it was pretty fun, as it had minigames and a friendly community, and it was humerous to watch everyone freak out during that april fools update that changed everyones skin to a villager. If I come back i'm mostly just going to build and keep to myself rather than before and stay out of peoples hair.

A suggestion to give VIPs the ability to use /rename on an item to give it a custom name with our without an EXP cost. Renaming could be able to have colors or not depending on rank perhaps? And also ability to use /relore which allows an item to be given custom 'lore' text, meaning the descriptive text below the name. This could also be given colors and fonts based on rank perhaps.

Thats all I guess. Vote for this idea if you think its a good one! 

It's frustrating and it seems like it's there for no reason. This really bothers me because I could have something really good and loose it all to fall damage. And then there's the slot machines, which have good items in them but sometimes you die and lose them. Please, I beg you. Fix it.

Why should you be unbanned: I stumbled across the diamond/emerald/beacon block house while my friend and I were exploring and I discovered that the house was not claimed so, seeing the possibility of getting lots of diamonds, we decided to break and collect the blocks. We didn't realize at the time that the person who built it put in a lot of effort and could have just forgotten to claim it. We were clearly not thinking straight and I am truly sorry to the entire server for trying to take shortcuts, the person who built it, and to the admins whose time I have wasted with this problem. The same applies to the stone that I took from the chest. I will from now on put my best effort into making the best logical choices and being the fair player that this server deserves. I promise to give back everything I took plus stuff from my own chests. 

Why do you want to come back: This server is really the only reason I am playing minecraft. The fact that I get to play survival with dozens of other people really makes me happy and the people in chat always are there to help whenever I have a question.

Why should you be unbanned: I did not know that not replanting at warp 7/11 was a bannable offense. I sincerely apologize for doing it. If I get unbanned I will replant what I failed to replant. I usually replant the crops, but was just lazy this one time. I will never do it again. 

Why do you want to come back: Hometown is a really great server. I have meet many friends and i enjoy the economy and land claiming process. I plan on making a large base and a shop. It is the first server that has truly accepted me.
