Why should you be unbanned: Ok, so I took some parachute. I put it in the bottom right hand corner of a chest because I didn't know what it was. You guys all questioned me for about 10 minutes and I had no idea what you were talking about until I actually saw the item. I am willing to admit that I did /rand about 10 times griefed a bunch of bases, took tons of stuff but i'm sorry. I really like this server and its by far the best smp server ive ever played on. I'm sorry I took the parachute and griefed a ton of bases. I will not do it again. I really want to be let back on to the server. I know this is my second appeal but thats because you guys denied the first one. If I get let on im deleting all my stuff if it helps my cause.
Why do you want to come back: Because I really like the community and the server. I enjoy playing on it and it brought me back to minecraft.
Why should you be unbanned: I didn't x-ray. I had asked DrBot to build me a villager breeder in exchange for one hundred dollars. At first he accepted, then he told me he could make more money mining for diamonds for fifteen minutes instead. I didn't believe him, and so I told him to go ahead and mine. After the fifteen minutes of mining he told me he came up with a bunch of materials and four diamond ore (which he had lied about). Four diamond ore?! In fifteen minutes?! I better mine as well, I thought. So I did /rand and came near a cave. I went to the bottom of the cave and mined to y=11 (that was DrBot's strategy). Along the way there, I jokingly told DrBot, "Wow! What x-ray do you use?!" and "I use xray112.org [not an actual thing, again, I said this jokingly, but now I know I should not joke about that]". I began to mine and came across some diamond ore after around 12 minutes. I mined the vein and I got 4 (at least, I think it was 4) diamond ore. I continued to mine some more. I came across some gravel and mined that with my fortune III shovel and got flint instead. I messaged DrBot about how I hated Fortune III on shovels and I asked him if gravel or flint was worth more. While I was asking DrBot this, Star and Kat were telling DrBot he was using x-ray. I almost never look at chat, unless someone whispers to me. So, I hadn't noticed that Dr was being interrogated while I was asking him about flint and gravel. I mined a little more and came to a cave. In the chat I saw Star call out my name. She asked me if I wanted to be truthful. I said yes, not knowing they were going to accuse me of x-raying. She asked me if I x-rayed, and truthfully, I said no. Then Kat told me that was the wrong answer. I was extremely confused and thought they were joking, and then they told me I had just walked past two diamond veins and didn't mine them because they were interrogating DrBot. I had never seen these two diamond veins and I had no idea they were questioning DrBot, and this caused a virtual mountain of confusion to fall on me. "WAIT WHAT," I typed. What diamond veins? Why was DrBot being interrogated? At this moment I knew that they were serious and I had to defend myself before they banned me with no appeal. I told them to look at my mining pattern (A straight line that curved only to veer away from lava and to veer towards granite, diorite, and andesite.) Then I told them to check my previous messages with DrBot. And then, I was IP banned for X-raying with no appeal allowed. I spent the next hour or three working with DrBot to send Grimm a message asking for what Grimm thought, as Grimm is very good at detecting x-rayers. We finished writing the message to Grimm and then we sent the message to Arayvek. Arayvek then sent the message to the staff chat and the staff had given us an option to appeal. (Thank you so much!) That brings me to where I am now.
Why do you want to come back: I love the community, the economy, and the plugins on this server. I think I first started playing on hometown around three years ago. Since then, Hometown has kept it's spot at the top of my list of favorite servers (in fact, Hometown is the only server I play on). In most servers, grief is tolerated, PvP is encouraged, and there are thousands of people who you never get to know the name of, and the server doesn't even have an economy. Usually the trades are 3 double chests of eggs for one diamond or something like that. Here, I know the name of almost everybody and I know their personality too. I rarely get griefed, thanks to claim blocks and chests that can be locked. I can make money selling cactus green dye from my cactus green AFK farm that doesn't get griefed, or go to my slime farm and sell slimeballs to make money.

Why should you be unbanned:
I was not x-raying. While proving that may be difficult, if you read this appeal, multiple instances of irrefutable evidence will convince you of my innocence.
Here is my strategy for mining:
I get to y=11 and mine straight. I'll mine lapis ore (because I heard they were just as rare as diamond ore), and I'm not sure about what to do about andesite/diorite/granite because the server shop buys them for a lot. I think I normally try to go for it, but I decided to skip it halfway through mining a bunch of andesite because I was unofficially racing with my brother to see who could get as many diamonds as possible in 15 minutes. That's my usual strategy for mining. However, I don't remember if this was in the first 15 min of mining or the second set of mining, I decided to try to do something similar to a strip mine. I didn't want to run into my tracks again so I'd make my mines going in one direction for a long time, then mine a few blocks in one direction, turn back to where I face the the opposite direction I originally was, and mine back that way. Of coarse, the map I made was only mental so I didn't actually know how well spaced my lines were. I wanted them to be spaced enough so that while mining in one direction, I wouldn't find a diamond vein on one side that could have already been discovered in the previous line on my other side.
Here's what happened that lead to that race:
Pemigrade wanted an automatic villager breeder and he said that he would only pay me $100, to which I first replied yes. I went to begin building him one but then decided that it would take me about 15 minutes to build the whole thing, and I could probably get a whole diamond ore vein in that time which would be worth $100 per diamond ore and there are many diamonds in each vein. So I went and started mining at y=11 near an ocean monument in the resource world (because I had a home set there and I could easily swim down to get pretty low into the ground). I mined for 15 minutes starting at 4:01 PM central time and ending around 4:16 PM, and didn't get any diamonds. However, I knew that I just got unlucky so I told my brother that I got 4 diamond ores and sent him chat messages about how much more beneficial it was for me to mine instead of work on his villager breeder. He then said something along the lines of "Wow! That's a lot! I'm going to mine too!" and I decided to race him. I remembered I had a zombie spawner that was pretty low to the ground so I teleported to that spawner and went down to y=11, but I realized I went too far so I turned back, found y=11 and started there. Every time I found a diamond vein, which only happened two times before I got banned for x-ray, I said "Wow! x hundred dollars already," where x was the number of diamond ores I got. I didn't use torches because I had a sea lantern in my offhand with OptiFine which causes it to emit light. Pemigrade then jokingly said "Which x-ray are you using? I'm using XRAY112.org". I had mined for two minutes, which admittedly is a short amount of time, before I went to warp pigman to repair my pickaxe with mending. I had found two diamond ore veins in two minutes, but keep in mind, in the mining trip I went to right before this, I hadn't found any diamond ores in 15 minutes. While I was at warp pigman, Star said that she and Kat caught me X-raying. At first, I thought they were joking, but then they banned me. Their ban was solely based on the two veins I had found.
In addition to this, I have chat logs that show me using OptiFine rather than another mod that could have x-ray. I have sent these to Arayvek on Skype. These logs prove that I was not using x-ray mods, but x-ray can also be used as a texture pack. I did not logout between the two 15 minute mining sets. Therefore, I could not have logged out between them and changed to an x-ray mod. Also, I wish I had thought of this sooner but goo.gl/photos/D9VfazTxZ66h3HeP8 shows I haven't removed any mods out of my versions folder since I got banned and I do not have an x-ray mod.
X-ray however can also be a texture pack. When I was getting banned, I hadn't thought about taking a screenshot to prove that I was not using x-ray. Sometimes I take screenshots on accident by pressing F2 instead of F3. The most recent screenshot I accidentally took was on June 8. An image of that is attached showing that I, at least on that day, was using the default texture pack.
Also, it occurred to me that I should be able to prove that I did not have an x-ray texture pack if I showed that my resource pack folder was empty and it had not been modified since I downloaded Minecraft on this computer on 6/02/17. Additionally, I showed Pemigrade my screen moments before being banned because I thought Star was asking him if I was using x-ray (It turns out she was asking him if he was also x-raying). Pemigrade will agree with me that I did not have an x-ray texture pack. However, he being my brother and not a staff member, I understand why you would not unban me strictly based on his word.
Yet another nugget of evidence is that in the chat log I sent Arayvek, one of the lines say "[18:54:24] [Client thread/INFO]: [OptiFine] Resource packs: Default" proving once again, that not only did I use the OptiFine mod, but also that I used the default resource pack. If any other staff member would like that chat log to verify, have her forward it to you.
Here's a summary of my strongest arguments:
My ban was based solely on two diamond veins.
I went mining for 15 minutes just prior to the second mine I created and found zero diamonds.
My logs contain the line, "[18:54:24] [Client thread/INFO]: [OptiFine] Resource packs: Default"
Both my versions folder and my resource packs folder do not contain x-ray aids and had not been modified since the moment of my supposed x-ray.
I would like to add that one of the most sacred principles in the American criminal justice system is the presumption of innocence. This says that one is innocent until proven guilty. While this may not apply to HomeTown as it is not the American criminal justice system, I believe that not only have I successfully defended myself from the shard of evidence against me, but I have proven myself innocent in this case.
Because I read the ban appeals in the Ban Appeal thread, I know x-rayers must answer three questions. Although I deny x-raying, I'll still answer them to demonstrate my understanding of why x-ray is not allowed on HomeTown.
- Why is cheating typically not allowed on Minecraft servers?
Cheating is typically not allowed on Minecraft servers because it can give you an unfair advantage over the other players in the server. Fly is disabled in the end because the server staff want all players to have an equal chance at getting the elytras and dragon heads which are both worth so much. Also, by cheating, new players are able to get above players who have been playing fairly. The players who have been playing fairly may feel they also need to download cheating mods in order to maintain their current financial state in Minecraft.
– How does x-raying negatively affect the economy?
X-raying negatively affects the economy by bringing the diamond price down. People who obtain many diamonds would sell them to a shop who would then have to sell them to other customers. As the shop owner’s supply increases and the demand is still the same, the price of each diamond sold by the shop owner would decrease, and other shop owners would have to decrease their diamond price as well if they would like to get sales as well. In this way, the price of diamonds everywhere goes down.
– How does x-raying negatively affect other players?
As I stated in the last question, x-raying brings the price of diamonds down. Players who fairly obtain diamonds end up getting much less money by selling their diamonds to shops that already own diamonds in a world with x-ray when compared to a world without. Players who fairly mine for diamonds are much poorer than x-rayers because of this. Because of this, x-raying negatively affects other players.
Why do you want to come back:
You can see my desire to return based on this 1600 word appeal. I wish to see many of the other players on the server and continue helping those who don't yet know many of the rules and useful commands. I also want to complete my shop and build a pvp arena. Ironically, I appreciate your efforts to remove x-rayers from Hometown.
Why should you be unbanned: I really like this server. I don't remember why I did it, but I do know that I should not have done it. It isn't right to steal. I took off from mine craft for a little bit for testing at school just to study, but when I went to go take the test a kid started cheating off of me. He stole the things I had time to collect and prepare. I understand now that theft isn't right. I knew it then, but I never took it into consideration until that happened. No one wants to be stolen from. You may or may not unban me, but if you do, you have given me a fresh start, which is what I would like to have
Why do you want to come back: As I mentioned earlier, I love this server and have made many friends on it. For a while, it felt like a second family because of the people on here. I would also like a new beginning. Everybody needs this. Everyone makes some mistake, but until they realize what they did wrong they won't learn from it. I want to prove myself worthy of having a community and friends. So if you do unban me, you will make my day. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Why should you be unbanned: Because I was falsely accused to intentionally stealing something. I accidentally picked up an item and when clearing my inventory it went into a chest. Star said that intentionally stole it and moved it around in the chest. I didn't.
Why do you want to come back: Because i'm a good person and bring fun to the server.
it has been a long time since I have been on this server. last time I was on their was no new server, it was the old server. It was amazing to be a part of that community but as time passed I disapperead. Now I have reammerged with a great passion. Its summer now so I will be on more often. I hope to get to know all of you once again.

Reason for your ban: I stole from Star's shop, also known as /warp glass. I took around 6+ stacks of food in total from her food section

Why should you be unbanned: I can explain what happened. Alright so I used /warp glass as a newb to buy items such as glass etc, and I remember someone saying the shop was pretty old and from my perspective the shop's prices were outdated in comparison to other shops. I kept this in the back of my head when I found the food section that was in one of the corners of the shop. The chests were just there unlocked with tons of food, now I wouldn't have taken anything if I had known the person or if the shop was active but from what I remembered at the time, the shop was 5000+ hours old and I thought since the player and the shop are most likely inactive, I doubt taking this food would hurt. Now, as a newb, I didn't know about rules such as taking stuff and destroying stuff from old players and banned ones. I knew there were conditions, but in my mind set a couple of months ago, I didn't really care, just free food right? I remember seeing that the cookie chest was empty and this made me assume that someone else had taken stuff from the inactive shop. But I do think I asked who made the shop and someone said startgirl or something and I remember doing /seen startgirl but it said player not found which further made me think that the player was inactive or banned, thinking back I probably did a typo but I remember doing it like 3 or 4 times. I also only took stuff I needed, like 1 stack every other day, I didn't think in my mind I was really stealing just taking stuff from an abandoned chest. I know now that what I did was super newby, I know that free food existed in the warp /freefood but since meat had more saturation, I took it. I was pretty inconsiderate as well since the player could have come back only to see what I had stolen. I wouldn't have ever done this if I had even known it was someone who was active around 6months ago and I would have asked the experienced players for their advice before doing so. I would have /cinfo the chests at least and known who it was from and asked if the player was banned or something . Had I known I was stealing from an active player or admin, I would have given them stacks of food and some money as well to compensate for what I had stolen. This was a few weeks ago and I personally believe I have gained a better understanding of the rules and wouldn't have done this this today. I didn't deliberately steal from star with bad intentions, I didn't even know the player who run the shop was even active
Why do you want to come back: I want to come back to finish my projects and to talk to some of the interesting players on this server some more.
